The model it uses (Qwen2.5-1.5B-Instruct, 4-bit) is roughly 1.0–1.1 GB of weights, plus a few megabytes for the WebLLM library and its WebGPU runtime. It only downloads once per browser: the files go into the browser's cache storage, so the next time the page opens (same browser, same machine) it loads from disk in a few seconds. Clearing site data or switching browsers will trigger a fresh download.
